KHYBER AGENCY: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Friday staged a protest demonstration at the Bab-e-Khyber in Jamrud over atrocities being committed against the Muslims in Syria.
The rally was organised by the Khyber Agency chapter of the party and was attended by dozens of workers and dwellers of Jamrud who also held banners inscribed with slogans in favour of the Syrian Muslims.
Addressing the gathering, JUI-F Jamrud leader Ghufranullah Khyberi said that thousands of Syrian Muslims had been murdered in cold blood due to barbaric bombardment of the international forces. “The so-called civilised European powers are targeting urban localities and have reduced cities of Syria into ruins for their vested political interests,” he said, adding that thousands of innocent people including children and women have either been killed or fled the area to save their lives. He also criticised the Muslim community for behaving like a silent spectator, urging it to rise up in support of the Syrian people.
