ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Tuesday has decided to suspend hike in power tariff for one week.
According to the sources ECC has postponed the increase in electricity price till the next schedule meeting in Islamabad next week.

Finance Minister Asad Umer chaired the ECC meeting. On the other hand, ECC has directed National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to present the policy for the next 3-5 years during the next meeting.

Sources told that policies for the collection of bills and to minimize the line losses have already been made.
It was also decided in the ECC meeting that circular loans would not be recovered from the consumers.
Earlier, it was being reported that ECC might increase gas price by Rs 2 per unit for domestic consumers.
